Trading Description

Lorenz Fund deploys capital into multiple systematic strategies that trade assets and derivatives within equities, bonds, commodities, and currencies to harvest uncorrelated returns. Position sizes are dynamically adjusted to generate positively skewed performance that can survive both turbulent and calm market environments. Most hedge funds are negatively skewed. Our mission is to double investor capital every 4 years.

Background

What is the best way to navigate uncertain markets? Gaines Capital was founded in 2020 by Andrew Abbott and James Ziemba due to this question. They realized there was a massive market need for a liquid uncorrelated investment vehicle purpose-built for long-term survival and compounding. After seeing countless parallels between markets and engineering, they borrowed design and control techniques from their engineering disciplines to build an investment product that has the potential to increase portfolio returns, reduce portfolio max drawdowns, and remain uncorrelated to the other portfolio components. Andrew studied Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and James received a degree in Mechanical Engineering and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Both worked as engineers prior to Gaines Capital and they each have more than 60% of their net worth invested in Lorenz Fund.
